Book your hotel by Sept. 3, 2018 in the Argentum Hotel Room Block, available at the Embassy Suites Old Town Alexandria, 1900 Diagonal Road, Alexandria, Virginia, 22314. The discounted room block is available for room stays between Sept. 25-27, 2018.
A deposit equal to one night’s stay is required to hold each individual’s reservation. Personal check, money order or a valid Amex, Visa, MC, Diners Card or Carte Blanche card number and expiration date or a guarantee to the master account are acceptable.
Should a guest cancel a reservation, the deposit will be refunded if notice is received at least (3) working days prior to arrival, and a cancelation number is obtained.
Rooms available at the Argentum rate are intended for EDLI registrants only. Rooms reserved at the Argentum rate by those attending unaffiliated events may be subject to cancellation. Please reserve your hotel room under the same name that you complete your conference registration under. Multiple hotel reservations under one name may be subject to review.

Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) is the primary airport serving northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. Reagan National Airport is conveniently located on the Metro and is a 10 minute Metro ride to Alexandria, Virginia and cost between $1.85 and $3.60 per person.
A taxi is a convenient and fast option for traveling from the airport to Alexandria, VA. Fares vary depending on which cab you take (both local DC cabs and local Virginia cabs operate from DCA but have different rates), as well as exactly where you’re going. Some taxi companies charge an additional airport fee of around $3. There are also additional fees if baggage is handled by the driver.
Uber works out cheaper than a taxi. uberX is estimated to be between $15-$25 (you can check an estimate for your specific trip here).
From Baltimore Area
BW Parkway / MD 295 S to Exit 1C - Interstate 95 South / Interstate 495 South toward Richmond. On I-495 as you get within 5 miles of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge you will see signs for Thru Lanes / Local Lanes – stay in the local lanes and take Exit 177B / S. Patrick St. / US 1 toward Alexandria. Move to the left lane and turn left on Duke Street – go about .6 miles and make a right onto Diagonal Road. Embassy Suites Hotel will be on your right.
From Interstate 66
Interstate 66 East to Exit 64A – Interstate 495 South - toward Richmond / Alexandria. Follow the signs for Interstate 495 East – Baltimore. On I-495 E, stay in the local lanes and take Exit 176B / Telegraph Road. Follow signs to Downtown Alexandria (236E / Duke Street). Follow to Diagonal Road and make a left at the light. Embassy Suites Hotel will be on your right.
From Richmond Area
Take Interstate 95 North in the Springfield area and follow the signs for Interstate 495 – East Baltimore. On I-495 E, use the local lanes take Exit 176B / Telegraph Road. Follow signs to Downtown Alexandria (236E / Duke Street). Follow to Diagonal Road and make a left at the light. Embassy Suites Hotel will be on your right.
